This is a beautiful metal statue of Lord Ganesh, the remover of obstacles. He stands about 4 feet tall. He was purchased in Dallas several years ago and at the end of a late night session, he was brought down the darshan line to Mother. It was quite a spectacle. Mother laughed and played with him, patting his round belly, and then blessed the statue with sandalwood paste and flower petals. In September of 1995 Lord Ganesh statues all over the world began drinking milk when it was offered to the statue. This went on for several days. India ran out of milk as lines several miles long formed at all the temples with Ganesh statues. I have seen videos of spoons full of milk being held up to the statues only to have the milk mysteriously recede to the bottom of the spoon and then disappear. It was as if a small drain was opened in the bottom of the spoon allowing the milk to flow out in a matter of 2 or 3 seconds.

A PRAYER TO LORD GANESH

Lord Ganesh

Cute elephant headed boy

Remover of obstacles

Elder brother to the human race

Whose brass and stone statues

drank thousands of gallons of milk

all over the world in September of 1995

Son of Lord Shiva

who is the perfect immanence of pure non-dual awareness

and Son of Parvati

the Divine Mother of infinite creation

You are absolute Cosmic Grace personified

created by our Mother as the loophole

in the maze of our blinding ignorance

and it is only through you

that we approach our Mother

and it is only through her

that we will know our Father

Our beautiful Mother is resting in silence

behind the locked door of her blissful bath of creation

as the Goddess Kundalini

While our Father, Lord Shiva, waits

in his boundless abode of non-duality

- the thousand petaled lotus

that lays just beyond the stairway to heaven

Our Mother has left you to guard this locked door

of her divine awakening power

and so we appeal to you our elder brother

to announce our arrival

and prevail upon her immeasurable compassion

that she might take us to our real home

in the kingdom of our Father's formless being
